Notes
The International Livestock Centre for Africa (ILCA) is currently putting together a list of people, institutions and organizations working on draught animal power in Africa in order to establish a network of those concerned. This would enable better planning and co-ordination of research on this subject in sub-Saharan Africa in order to promote its use and improve its efficiency. The network will diffuse available information and encourage communication so as to facilitate evaluation by decisionmakers, researchers and extension workers of the potential of draught animal power. Until long-term funding is ensured, ILCA will finance the establishment of the network and the publication of the first liaison bulletin to which all interested parties are invited to contribute.
