There are signs that the EU and the USA may reach a compromise in the WTO involving 'de-coupling' of farm support, with adverse consequences for ACP countries a possible outcome. However, opposition from some countries in Europe may lead to a measure of 'partial de-coupling', although Commission Fischler has argued strongly against this.
