Abstract/Description
OMA (Agricultural Market Watch) officials gather information on the prices of millet, rice and livestock on 58 local markets, and email the results to regional offices.
Notes
OMA (Agricultural Market Watch) officials gather information on the prices of millet, rice and livestock on 58 local markets, and email the results to regional offices. The information is then compiled, analyzed and forwarded to FM radio stations to be broadcast in French and local languages. About 70% of Mali´s 11 million inhabitants now tune in to the market reports. Mali´s Assembly of Chambers of Agriculture, USAID and Michigan State University are collaborating in the Projet d´appui au système du marché agricole (PASIDMA) which aims to make OMA a sustainable commercial entity.
