    Abstract/Description
The physiological characteristics of Kenana and Butana dairy cows are investigated. The blood picture and certain biochemical indices in 153 Kenana dairy cows as well as physio-chemical characteristics on the blood of 88 lactating and pregnant Butana cows were examined. Significant differences were observed between lactating and pregnant cows with respect to the blood picture, total proteins, albumin and globulin concentrations; and average values for blood iron and copper, and serum urea.
