Report to CGIAR International Centers Week 1998 on the Center Directors Committee Meeting of October 22-24, 1998. The report noted discussions with System Review Panel Executive Secretary Mahendra Shah and approval of a comment on the Review (separate record), endorsement of three papers prepared by SGRP on genetic resources issues and the establishment of an IPR advisory service at ISNAR, interchange with the TAC Chairman and Executive Secretary regarding the logical framework, center-commissioned external reviews, and planned studies of marginal lands and poverty. The directors expressed strong support for the new CGIAR Gender and Diversity Program. They agreed to explore with the CGIAR Secretariat possible joint mechanisms for managing reserves and guarding against currency fluctuations. The directors pledged continued support to the work of the Public Awareness and Resource Mobilization Committee (PARC) and Future Harvest.
