TAC Conclusions and Recommendations on Water Management

Abstract

TAC's recommendation to the CGIAR to establish an International Irrigation Management Institute (IIMI), as transmitted by TAC Chairman Ralph W. Cummings to CGIAR Chairman Warren C. Baum. The proposal spells out IIMI's mandate, location, desired skill mix of staff, work program, and organization of work. Attachments include the report of TAC's Study Team on Water Management Research and Training, and extracts from the reports of the related TAC Steering Group. This topic was considered at TAC meetings from the 23rd meeting onward, and in the CGIAR from 1980. This particular document includes materials on the agenda of TAC's 27th meeting in March 1982 and the CGIAR meeting of May 1982.
