The report of the first formal management review of a CGIAR center. It was prepared by a panel consisting of Dr. Omond Solandt and Mr. Raymond Audet, both from Canada. It was viewed as experimental, and was not expected to, and did not, turn up any major management problems. Nevertheless, the review made 17 recommendations for change and improvement. These dealt with such subjects as the board of trustees, which the panel did not observe in action, the role of internal committees at CIP, accounting and financial policies and practices, the need for a center owned airplane, and long range planning. The report also discussed interaction with the Second Quinquennial Review of CIP, conducted concurrently.
