Proposal based on USAID project contracted to North Carolina State University planning the establishment in Peru of an international research and training center on the potato. Brief history of the potato's origins in the Andes and its introduction to other continents, its potential impact on world food supply, and comparison with other crops in terms of calories and protein produced per acre per day.
